Today pupils from Primary 3-7 had a lovely visit from local poet, Michael Devine. Recently the Primary 5-7 pupils recited some of Michael’s poems which were recorded and aired alongside Michael’s interview for Strabane Radio Online. The children enjoyed the experience of their voices being heard on a radio broadcasting platform.
The poems recorded were taken from Michael’s book called ‘Thoughts’ in which he has written many memories of his own life experiences and those from his imagination. Michael answered some questions from the pupils and our P7 pupil, Jamie read aloud: ‘The man frae the Plum’ taken from the book. Michael gave the children a token of his appreciation and gifted the school with a copy of his publication. In the next academic year we look forward to working alongside Michael again.
