St Patrick's Day Assembly

16th Mar 2023

Today our school played host to the parents, grandparents and wider community to witness an Assembly led by Primary 3/4. This assembly was a spectacular showcase of talent from staff and students to celebrate our Irish heritage and the story of Our Patron Saint. Narrated and acted out expertly by Primary 3 and 4, the entire school community took part in song, dance and scripture.

Primary One sang a beautiful version of Molly Malone, followed up by the entertaining rendition of 'I'm a Little Leprechaun.' As well as narrating the entire show, Primary 3/4 sang St. Patrick's breastplate, Christ Be Beside Me. Primary 5-7 sang 'I'll Tell Me Ma' and embellished the performance with tin whistle, fiddle and concertina. We also had a fabulous display of Irish Dancing and even a brush dance by Sean nÓs dancers. Miss Maguire, who has been in all year with our Engage Programme, had the audience enthralled with her harp playing. She played Eleanor Plunkett and a jig together. Simply stunning.
