Sports Day 2026

29th May 2026

A fun day was had at Glenelly pitch today, with all the children dressed in their colourful P.E. kits. Everyone gave their best effort, and it was wonderful to see the children enjoying themselves in all the races.

The bean bag balance proved to be a learning experience for some children—though I wish I could say it was just our P.1 class!

We hope everyone went home happy after such an energetic day. In true Irish fashion, the weather had the final say, and we had to abandon the last two races—Obstacle Race for Years 1–4 and Cross the River for Years 5–7—as well as our much-anticipated Marathon race.

We look forward to returning to the pitch soon to complete these events.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this event such a success.

A special word of appreciation goes to Glenelly for the generous use of their pitch and facilities. We are also very grateful to the Friends of St Peter’s, who provided a much-appreciated cup of tea and raised valuable funds for the school. We also thank all the parents who helped transport children back to school in the inclement conditions. It was greatly appreciated.

Finally, thank you to our dedicated staff and Sean and, most importantly, to the children, whose enthusiasm and spirit made the day such an enjoyable and memorable occasion. Well done boys and girls we are extremely proud of you, everyone displayed the true values of St Peter's both on and off the pitch.
