Primary 4 and 5 visit An Creagán
25th Mar 2026
Today our Primary 4 and 5 class were treated to an educational visit to An Creagán Visitor Centre to learn about the importance of peatland and biodiversity. The boys and girls enjoyed a walk on the boardwalk, measuring different bog depths, alongside finding berries and naming different species of lichen and bogland plants which were used for medicinal and healing purposes many years ago.
Pupils then finished the session by creating an artistic bogland scene and observed their plant findings under the microscope. Thank you to our guides, Helena and Aidan for your very informative visit and having us for the day!
