Last week, we celebrated Maths Week Ireland 2020 at St Peter’s Primary School. Everyone enjoyed fun maths activities and various problem solving tasks both in class and for homework. This special week helps raise awareness of maths for children, families, teenagers and school teachers, alongside celebrating the importance of it in our everyday lives.
Pupils watched some episodes of Maths Week TV which were live sessions hosted by famous mathematicians, such as Andrew Jeffrey, Susan Okereke and Franz Schlindwein.
KS2 pupils had the opportunity to independently research a mathematician and present their findings through a variety of different methods. Their findings were fantastic showing great creativity and enthusiasm.
There are still a few outdoor maths activities to take place when we return to school, so we will look forward to those then 😊
