Today our girls travelled to The Garvaghey Centre to play off the Girls' Finals of the Cumann na mBunscol football blitzes. We were grouped up with St. Francis' Laghey, St. Oliver Plunkett's Beragh and St. Mary's Ballygawley. In our semi-final we played against a very good team from St. Francis' and played a very good match. Our girls were on form though and ran off winners after two 7-minute halves. St. Mary's Ballygawley ran off as victors in the other semi-final and we were to meet in the final.
The final was an incredibly tense and end-to-end match with chances for both teams. Eireann produced some remarkable saves in one-on-one situations that really made the difference. In a strong show of belief our girls managed to get it over the line for a win in their section. We are incredibly proud of our girls and the travelling support.
