Confirmation

16th Mar 2023

Our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a beautiful service on Wednesday 15th March from Fr Donnelly where they received their fourth sacrament, Confirmation. Dáire, Cara, Dara and Jamie were joined by Hannah from St. Brigid's in Cranagh and the five were exceptional and leading the liturgy and prayers throughout. Mary Brines and her choir provided the music and thanks to the wedding of Eimear McConnell, a past-pupil, earlier in the day, the chapel was beautifully decorated with flowers and candlelight.

The evening was a really calm and relaxed evening and the children listened intently throughout to Fr Donnelly and his message of growing your faith. This year the pupils were gifted with blackcurrant bushes and tasked with planting these and cultivating them so that they see the rewards of their labour in seasons to come. Fr Donnelly reminded them that this is like their faith and that it requires work and dedication to flourish. Receiving the Gifts of the Holy Spirit allows the Fruits of the Spirit to shine out, this is the same as the gift of the blackcurrant bush and watching the fruits grow.

"Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit."
