A Heartbreaking Finish for a Brilliant Team
Our school’s girls’ football team delivered a superb performance at this year’s Football Blitz, showing determination, skill, and incredible team spirit throughout the tournament.
In the round robin stage, the team secured impressive victories over St. Caireall’s, St. Theresa’s, St. Patrick’s, and St. Michael’s, earning their well-deserved place in the final. Facing St. Patrick’s once again in the decider, the match proved to be a tense and closely contested battle. Both teams defended fiercely in a low-scoring game, with few opportunities to score.
In the end, it was heartbreak for our girls, as St. Patrick’s edged ahead with the very last kick of the game. Despite the disappointment, the team can hold their heads high—every player gave it their all, and they represented the school with pride and distinction.
We are immensely proud of their efforts and sportsmanship. Well done to all involved and many thanks to St. Patrick’s for their refreshments for staff and students. Good luck in Garvaghey.
