Today the Primary 5-7 children visited Butterlop Farm to have a look at life and farming over the years. This was funded by the Lottery Heritage fund. Children were treated to several different sessions by Annie, Vinnie, Lynn and Leo. We looked the history of farming materials and life, the evolution of sheep breeds across the Sperrin valley and how to spin yarn and wool. As well as this look into the farmyard, we also ventured out across the fields to look at this history of the site, conditions and animals and wildlife. We took a stream sample of wildlife to discover it vibrant with nymphs and freshwater shrimp.
As ever we are so thankful for the chance to get up and explore and everyone had a great time.
