Today marked a very poignant day in the school calendar. Birthday celebrations in school usually consist of a little verse of Happy Birthday and everyone wishing you well, but for our Matthew we made changes. The children in Matthew’s class, alongside staff and his sister Grace wrote messages for Matthew on balloons and we released these this morning to mark his birthday, which would have been celebrated tomorrow.
For the class, this was very symbolic as their topic is ‘Flight’ and they were imagining traveling up to see Matthew. Writing their messages on balloons they hoped that Matthew would be able to see the balloons and read the messages on them.
Never more than a thought away, enjoy your heavenly 9th Birthday.
